Arguably, commercials during the Super Bowl have more impact and remembrance than the actual game itself.
The commercials that are aired during the Super Bowl are viewed by the masses. They have an impact on America’s popular culture.
One commercial that aired starred Ken Jeong, was an advertisement for Popeyes, engaged the audience on a comical level and left a lasting impression—at least on me. I love Jeong and Popeyes so I may be slightly biased.
Super Bowl commercials have consistently influenced people due to the mass audience that is reached. Even if someone you know does not enjoy watching football, they are more than likely to watch the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl commercials are impressive and supposed to leave an everlasting impression. That’s exactly what happened yet again this year.
My favorite commercial was the Cat Trainer advertisement starring Pete Davidson. I love cats, Davidson, and love mayonnaise (which was featured). It was funny, had a star studded cast and featured food and things that Americans are fond of. The creators of the Super Bowl commercials took these into consideration and curated toward that.
According to Statista, “the Super Bowl is watched in 70% of American households, and the game is broadcast globally to 130 countries in more than 30 languages, reaching more than 200 million viewers.” The Super Bowl is a borderline national holiday to Americans.
To which I will continue and say, I am currently watching the game drinking my favorite beer, Church Music. I propose that America allow the Super Bowl to be an excused exemption for school and work.
